Dr. Sean C. Rast
Dr. Sean C. RastManaging Partner
Sean founded of SECORA in 2001 and has since then been involved in building and expanding the consultancy world wide. He holds a PhD. in operations management from the University of San Diego California, an MBA from the University of Ohio, and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Fayetteville State. In addition, he is a certified professional engineer (Ohio State) and a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt (both DMAIC and DFSS).

Sean’s engagements range from Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Automotive, Government, Steel to mining with companies such as Roche, Merck, Novartis, BMW, Magna, Textron, BHP and others. Sean has worked in the USA, multiple European countries, China, and Australia. He is fluent in English, German, the dialect of Swiss-German, and basic conversational Swedish.

Ernst Kasper
Ernst KasperSenior Advisor
Ernst received his degree in Chemical process engineering in Basel Switzerland, is a certified PMP through Boston University, and has 40 plus years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He started as a chemical plant team member and worked his way through shift supervisor to plant manager. Was part of the start-up team to plan, build, and launch a green field chemical API manufacturing plant in Florence South Carolina. Diverse background with hands on experience in manufacturing, validation, technical support, automation, quality, training, business process and engineering. Extensive knowledge of GMP’s and regulatory expectations. Ernst is fluent in German, English, and the dialect of Swiss-German.
David Asher

David’s educational background includes a B.S – Biological Sciences, MBA – Operational Management, PhD – (candidate) Decision Sciences and Molecular Microbiology. He is also a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt. David adds to SECORA by:

  • Increased Necropsy capacity by 32% through Kaizen event. Increased overall capacity of Toxicology studies by 10% due to increase capacity in Necropsy.
  • Decreased Cycle Time for final reports to General Toxicology and Developmental and Reproductive Toxicology clients. On time delivery from 62% on time to 84% on time. (DMAIC Master Black Belt)
  • Created new process to capture changes in study design from proposal to final protocol. Resulted in capturing $1.3 million annually. (DFLSS Black Belt)
  • Decreased Study Scheduling cycle time from 7 days to 2 days. Decreased response time to client for final study scheduling and decreased overall staff hours to schedule from 4.5 hours per study to 1.75 hours per study. (DMAIC Green Belt)

David is based out of Texas USA and speaks English and conversational German.

John Grout

John Co-founded SECORA Australasia in 2006 and has consulted for clients in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Professional Services sectors. John comes from senior executive operations positions having spent 15 years in the automotive and defence sectors. His strengths include advising clients in Lean methodologies with particular emphasis on operational effectiveness, asset utilisation, cost reduction, work management, organisation, project management, restructuring and strategic planning.
Mark Taylor

Mark Co-founded SECORA Australasia in 2006 and has consulted for clients in the Mining, Defence, Utilities and Professional & Financial Services sectors. Mark is a former Partner of Ferrier Hodgson, Chartered Accountant and Restructuring professional. Mark has advised clients on system wide restructuring and re-organisations, productivity improvement, cost reduction, process efficiency and business case development in Australia, the APAC region and Europe.
Steve Hazard

Steve joined BASF Coatings GmbH in 1995 within the Automotive Refinish Coatings division. As General Manager he developed and managed the companies distribution company Europaints Limited. His next appointment within BASF was Key Account Manager with responsibility for all leading OEM’s, Insurance Companies and Dealer Groups. He was then appointed Brand Manager for R-M Automotive Refinish. In 2007 he set up his own company Carpaints Direct Limited, trading globally. He sold the company in 2018 and joined Secora as Sales Director with responsibility for new business development in the USA and Europe.

Stefan Schurr
Stefan SchurrSenior Consultant

For more than 15 years, Stefan Schurr has engaged himself in optimizing production processes using methods of QFD, DFSS and Lean Six Sigma. Mr. Schurr has trained more than 800 Green Belts, Black Belts, MBBs and executives using these methods to which he has been able to integrate them into development processes, helping companies avoid failures, getting a better understanding of customer needs, and reducing development time.

Katharine Sorensen
Katharine SorensenExecutive Assistant

Katharine graduated in 2006, earned her certification in Medical Billing and Coding in 2010, CNA certification in 2013, and surgical technologist certification in 2017. She started with Secora in 2018 as an executive assistant with plans to take the green belt class and then be able to teach it in both English and German.
